DMOZ or the ODP are a large directory run by an army of volunteers. It is a desireable website directory to get listed in. There are claims of a big back log of sites to be reviewed and many unsubstantiated claims of corruption on SEO forums, but very little to no evidence ever gets produced.
How to get a site listed in DMOZ?:
1. Have a site that is worthy of being listed (most submitted sites are not unique enough)
2. Write a guideline compliant title and description (most submitted descriptions need rewriting as they are full of marketing hype – if you can’t take the time to get this right, why should an editor take the time to review your site?)
3. Submit once to the one best category (if you can’t get the catgeoiry right, why should an editor bother with your site?)
4. Move on; forget about it; there is nothing more you can do (resubmitting is counterproductive)
